A Career Built on Excellence
Dr. William P. Boxer, MD, FACP, began his medical journey after graduating from Millburn High School in New Jersey. He earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Biopsychology from Lafayette College before receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree from Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York.
Following medical school, Dr. Boxer completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Boston University Medical Center and became board-certified in internal medicine in 2000.
After residency, Dr. Boxer joined the renowned Upper East Side New York City practice of Dr. Jay Adlersberg, where he became Director of Internal Medicine, Osteoporosis, and Infusion Management for the Joint Pain Center of New York.
Over the next 15 years, thousands of patients received specialized infusion therapies under his supervision, including treatments with Remicade, Reclast, and Orencia. During this time, Dr. Boxer established a strong reputation for treating medically complex patients and became widely recognized for his expertise in osteoporosis care.
His extensive experience also enables him to coordinate care with specialists, serving as a trusted physician who helps patients navigate complex medical needs while keeping every aspect of their healthcare connected.

Continuing Care Across Communities
Since 2015, Dr. Boxer has continued providing primary care through Phelps Medical Group in Dobbs Ferry, New York. Many long-term patients continued traveling from New York City and surrounding communities to receive ongoing care.
Bringing Care Back Home
Following more than 20 years of practice in New York City and Westchester County, Dr. Boxer returned to New Jersey to open a private Direct Primary Care practice in Pennington. Patients can receive care through office visits, telemedicine, and local house or workplace calls, providing flexible healthcare that fits their needs.
Members enjoy direct access to their physician with personalized care, preventive health planning, and enhanced availability, including around-the-clock communication for urgent concerns.

Service Above the Practice
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Boxer volunteered at King's County Hospital in Brooklyn, caring for covid patients on the frontline. He continues to provide hospital and nursing home care.
Beyond Medicine
Outside the office, Dr. Boxer enjoys tennis, cheering for the New York Yankees, listening to country music, and spending time on the farm.
